Our Story
Founded in 2018 by a group of passionate gaming enthusiasts in Toronto, GameFest Canada emerged from a simple yet powerful vision: to create Canada's most comprehensive and innovative video game exhibition. What started as a small gathering of indie developers in a community center has evolved into the nation's premier gaming showcase, attracting thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from across North America.
Our journey began when co-founders Alexandra Chen and Marcus Rodriguez recognized a significant gap in Canada's gaming landscape. While the country boasted incredible talent in game development, there was no major platform to celebrate, showcase, and connect the diverse gaming community. From our first exhibition with just 50 attendees and 12 indie games, we've grown to become a cornerstone event in the Canadian gaming calendar.
Today, GameFest Canada stands as a testament to the power of community-driven innovation. We've facilitated partnerships that have led to groundbreaking games, provided platforms for emerging developers to launch their careers, and created unforgettable experiences for gaming enthusiasts of all ages.
